Le Vélo Libre - Colmar Petite Venise

Very easy to use, bikes in good condition and lots of information about self-guided tours available at the shop. No issues with battery after 50km of cycling, in a period of 9 hours (with lots of stops!). Strongly recommend a tour through the vineyards while staying in Colmar!

Great service. Easy to use. Bike was fully charged and more than enough battery to do the 52km loop through the beautiful Alsace towns and vineyards. There are numerous routes available via QR code inside the shop. They take you on bike paths and agricultural paths for most of the route. None of the hills were too hard with the electric bike. Highly recommend.

Great experience, good support. Overall, the bike rental went very well: online booking went very intuitive, access to the on-site store via PIN code worked ok and the bikes are really good (you have a basket and a smartphone holder included). I had to replace the bike as the transmission was not working — called them and by the time I had arrived at the shop again, my new bike was ready and the rental time was extended. Very nice phone service as well. However the bike lock would not open upon entering the shop, so I had to call them. And the telephone number is not placed very prominently — need to change that, by the way. Here it is for your Information: +33 3 68 38 22 30. It is absolutely recommended to tour the area with an ebike — you see so much more than going by car.

Loved the concept of this business. We rented bikes with the intention of visiting 3 villages in a 6 hours. The rates were reasonable and the bikes were nice. The GPS maps took us on bike paths most of the way. At one point we lost connection to the GPS directions, but it was near the end of the ride and we just did our own GPS directions to get back. I would recommend Le Velo Libre in Colmar. I suggest that when you pick up your bike, ask for helmets and understand where the key is to lock the bike. We weren't offered helmets and it wasn't explained where the key was to lock up the bikes. That is my only negative feedback. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our day on the bikes.
