The Bike Chain

Good, friendly and flexible service, nice bikes. I am very tall (195cm), 20kg overweight, middle aged and not very flexible. I never manage to find a hire bike as big the road and touring bikes I use daily back home (64cm and XXL). Mark talked to me about what he had available, which was a 59cm Temple road bike with drop bars and a triple chainset to suit the local hills. My wife is not as fit as me but still wanted to cycle, so she chose to hire one of the e-bikes, and we arranged for an afternoon so we could have a leisurely ride to Nice and back along the cycle path. Both bikes were ready for us at the time arranged, and were clean and in good condition, brakes, gears, shifters, drivetrain all worked, on the Temple the seat was probably the best one could expect to fit the most number of people adequately. I had reserved the road bike with the intention of taking a day by myself to go up into the hills, but after 4hours I decided that it wouldn't suit me for the day, it being too small or me being too big, and Mark cancelled the booking without fuss. I expect to go to Antibes in a couple of years, and will get in touch with Mark next time to see if his stock has changed. I do recommend The Bike Chain, and will also pass on my recommendation to the owner of the apartment we had stayed in.

Highly recommend. Beautiful bikes for a fair price. The owner was very helpful and accommodating. Included a helmet, lock, insurance, and repair kit. Just about everything you need to tour around the riviera. I rented the Temple adventure disc for a week and took it all over from Cannes to Nice. Monaco to Cipières by the gorges. No issues. Would not hesitate to rent from here again if I'm ever back.

We rented a pair of road bikes for the afternoon and cycled to Old Nice and back. The views along the coast were stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed the ride. It seems like Mark runs a one man operation but the bikes were impeccably maintained. Thanks for the experience!
